FAQs – Countdown Timer

Q1: What’s the difference between a count up timer and a stopwatch?
A count up timer measures elapsed time from a chosen start point; a stopwatch typically starts at zero and includes laps. (Functionally similar—our stopwatch adds Lap times.)

Q2: Can I start from a past time?
Yes. Select Custom date & time, choose a past moment, and it will calculate elapsed time since then.

Q3: Will the timer keep running if I switch tabs?
Yes, it keeps time accurately. Some browsers may delay screen updates in background tabs, but the elapsed time remains correct.

Q4: Does it work on phones and tablets?
Absolutely. It’s responsive, touch-friendly, and supports full-screen on most devices.

Q5: Can I run multiple timers?
This page supports one timer at a time. For multiple, use separate tabs or see our Multi-Timer tool (if/when you add it).
